Opportunity for UTRID Board Service

We are excited to open an invitation for UTRID service to the community. UTRID is looking for a volunteers to work with the board this year. Currently, we have one open position:

Fundraising Committee Chair

The Fundraising Committee Chairperson will work closely with the Professional Development Committee Chairperson to offer workshops to the membership and community in addition to working with the board in other fundraising efforts, such as selling items at events, setting up a booth at the bazaar, exploring options with the local community about creating merchandise to be sold at evets, etc.

UTRID Board meetings are held each month on the second Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Committee chairpersons are encouraged to attend meetings and maintain an active role in the decision making process. Committee chair persons are essential to the overall work we do as a board. The other committees that work with the board are: Membership (chair: Kathy Kalm), Professional Development (chair: Debbie Peterson), Student Liaison's (chair: Katie Maxwell), Newsletter (chair: Amelia Williams), Website (chair: Holly Nelson).

The commitment period for committee chairs is two years; elections are held every two years (board position elections are held on the alternating years). Committee chair elections/appointments will be held in August, 2009.
