Opportunity for UTRID Board Service

We are excited to open an invitation for UTRID service to the community. UTRID is looking for a volunteers to work with the board this year. Currently, we have the following open positions:

Secretary:
The secretary works closely with the president and the board to prepare for business meetings, takes minutes during meetings, and assists in maintaining the records of the organization.

Member-at-Large:
Members-at-Large (MAL) work with the committee to represent and speak to the needs of the organization by assisting with coordination of activities, and communicating with the membership. MAL serve as a resource to the community and membership by providing information and updates about the profession.

Fundraising Committee Chair:
The Fundraising Committee Chairperson will work closely with the Professional Development and Activities Committee Chairs to offer workshops to the membership and community in addition to working with the board in other fundraising efforts, such as selling items at events, setting up a booth at the bazaar, exploring options with the local community about creating merchandise to be sold at evets, etc.

Additional Information:
UTRID Board meetings are held each month on the second Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Board members and committee chairpersons are responsible to attend meetings and maintain an active role in the decision making process. All board members and committee chair persons are essential to the overall work we do as a board.

The commitment period for board members and committee chairs is two years; elections are held every two years. Board position elections and committee chair elections are held on alternating years. Board elections will be held on August 14, 2010. Committee chair elections/appointments will be held in Summer/Fall, 2011.
